Work has begun on the sequel, Phoenix Anomaly 2. In desperate need of a refit, the Mendel journeys back toward Earth carrying samples from Phoenix. Suddenly, something goes terribly wrong and Kamen loses contact with the rest of the crew. Now she must explore the dilapidated hulk of a ship while Phoenixian life grows out of control, or else lose their only chance to get back home.

Collect samples of Phoenixium to fuel a new set of special moves:

• Power Jump: Launch yourself high into the air and destroy any enemies in your path with a blast of flame.
• Rocket Slide: Blast along the ground destroying enemies.
• Mid-air Dash: A burst of power destroys enemies and gives your jumps extra distance.

Evade Mendel's automated defenses as they try to sterilize the biological contamination, including:

• Machine gun turrets
• Robot arms mounted on rails
• Cleaning robots capable of spraying deadly acid

And of course, watch out for new alien lifeforms!

Personal Log

Mission Day: 221

Today was a huge relief for everyone as we made the turn to point Mendel's engines toward Earth and make the final slowdown. Aster did most of the work, but we all felt the excitement of knowing that we will soon be home.

The Mendel feels just a tired as we do. She has been through a lot on these long months in space. Parts of her have been salvaged to repair other parts, and a lot of the damage from the Phoenix disaster was impossible to fully repair. She is going to need far more than a new coat of paint before she can be launched on any more missions, but I am confident that she can get us safely home.

Mission Day: 222

I am posting this to the shipwide server so anyone who comes online will see it. I don't know what has happened. When I woke up today the engines had stopped burning and no one else was online. Something disastrous must have happened, but I am still alive and I am going to leave my module to search the ship for answers. If you come back online, please contact me immediately. If the engines are not reactivated soon, we may miss our insertion window for solar orbit.
